Who do you think the target audience is? Why? (Mainstream or niche?)
The target audience for this movie are middle aged people and people who are able to perceive changes in the world and culture. The movie it was for a mass audience even though the budget was small.
What do the budgets tell you about the film?
The budget tells us that the movie was meant to be for the British public, so probably thats the reason why it had small budget and they probably didn't even think it would done this well.
Slumdog is classed as a British film, why?
Slumdog is classified as a British film because it has British actors in it even though it was shot outside of British in India Mumbai and also the British director who directed it Danny Boyle.
What is the criteria for classifying a film as ‘British’?
The criteria for classifying this film as British is quite high because there are British lead actors, for example like Dev Patel from a show called skin and the director Daany Boyle.
How was the film received? (research critics reviews/awards won)
Slumdog Millionaire's won 8 oscars and another 92 wins & 39 nominations. Other people thought that " Slumdog Millionaire’, a film so upbeat and colourful that, by the time you’re relaying its infectious air of optimism to friends, you could forget that it features orphans, slaughter, organised crime, poverty, enslavement and police brutality" and "I'm not sure it's a great movie, but it's certainly a great audience movie"
How was the film advertised? (Where? How long for?)
The film was advertised using trailers and soundtracks, for example like "Jai Ho" by Pussycat Dolls it showed someof the clips from the movie and it was world wide.
Why do you think the film was so successful?
In my opinion I think that the movie was successful because the way there were being cruel and torturering the children and us the vulnerbility we feel when we are watching the movie. Also and maybe the show they used "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" because it's quite famous and popular aound the world.
